The University of Maryland Autism Research Consortium is an interdisciplinary group of researchers whose goal is to advance the understanding of Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) in children and adults, and to contribute to the development of effective treatments and interventions. We conduct research on the cognitive, social, linguistic and neural underpinnings of autism, and provide resources for parents of children with autism through a monthly lecture series. Recent lectures have included topics such as financial planning for children with special needs, parenting styles, school IEPs, etc. We are also exploring the possibility of developing a preschool program geared specifically towards toddlers with autism, and day-long “camps” geared towards adolescents with autism. Your gift can enhance both our research and outreach activities.
