Drs. Susan and Bernice Tannenbaum grew up in Maryland and attended the University of Maryland as zoology majors. Although they were both interested in the natural world and life sciences, Susan and Bernice pursued different career paths - Susan as a physician and Bernice as an environmental scientist with a Ph.D. Together, the sisters were compelled to create the Susan and Bernice Tannenbaum Undergraduate Prize in Climate Science due to their mutual concern about climate change and its impact on the world.
The Susan Tannenbaum ‘64 and Bernice Tannenbaum ‘69 Endowed Undergraduate Prize in Climate Science was generously established to recognize outstanding research and scholarly achievement by undergraduate students in the Department of Atmospheric and Oceanic Science.
