Impact of Giving

In general, my annual gift to Maryland is to contribute back for the great and inexpensive education I received. The amount I've given since I've graduated (at least 15,000 over 15 years) is not even close to the value of the education I received. Since 2007, my gift represents a living memorial for my mother who passed away then from cancer. While not necessarily direct, maybe my gift will help a student one day find a great discovery that could change lives.

Puri Family Current-Use Dissertation Award in Agricultural and Resource Economics

Jyotsna Puri M.S. ’02, Ph.D. ’06 established the Puri Family Current-Use Dissertation Award in Agricultural and Resource Economics in February 2025. This fund supports awards to recognize Ph.D. students working to complete their dissertation in the Department of Agricultural and Resource Economics in the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources.
