The Physical Sciences Complex had its grand opening in April 2014, garnering the attention of scientists and researchers across the nation. This facility houses the Department of Physics and Department of Astronomy, as well as interdisciplinary research centers and institutes. Specialized spaces include a quantum science laboratory with precision controls for vibration and electromagnetic interference critical to advancing our understanding of the universe. The Physical Sciences Complex is known for its dramatic elliptical form that creates an “oculus to the skies”–capturing the metaphor of the building being a connection between the earth and skies through exploring physics and astronomy. Gifts to this fund will go to the building's continued upkeep and general maintenance.
