Research in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry is concentrated in areas that cut across traditional subfields and provide the greatest opportunities for new discoveries. Analytical chemistry is one of several traditional subfields and an important foundation for our research and education programs. Gifts to the Analytical/Nuclear Chemistry Research Fund support research in analytical/nuclear chemistry with a preference for basic nuclear science and nuclear forensics, and in applications of the nuclear analytical technique of Accelerator Mass Spectrometry (AMS) to environmental and nuclear problems.
