Meriam Rosen Scholarship for Excellence in Dance

The Meriam Rosen Scholarship for Excellence in Dance was established in February 2009 by John C. Ford '64 and Sandra Poster '64. Spendable Income from the Meriam Rosen Scholarship for Excellence in Dance provides annual merit-based scholarships for undergraduate or graduate students enrolled in the Department of Dance at the University. Meriam Rosen joined the faculty of the University of Maryland in 1955. During her tenure as a professor in the Department of Dance, she also served as the Visiting Artist Coordinator and Publicist for the department and the primary advisor for dance programming at the Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center. In honor of her retirement, John C. Ford '64 and Sandra Poster '64 established, through the University of Maryland College Park Foundation, Inc., an endowed fund to support dance students at the University.
