Dr. Arthuree McLaughlin Wright established the McLaughlin Wright Education and Information Science Scholarship in June 2018 and amended the fund in December 2024. The fund is now known as the McLaughlin Wright Education and Information Current-Use Scholarship for the University of Maryland. It supports need-based scholarships for undergraduate students in the College of Information Studies and the College of Education with a preference for students who have graduated from a high school in Prince George's County, Maryland or Washington, D.C.
The fund commemorates the dedicated service and commitment of Dr. Arthuree McLaughlin Wright's parents, Arthur Spiegel McLaughlin and Iris Ladson McLaughlin, to the education of children and youth.
