Edith K. Lauer established the John N. and Edith K. Lauer Family Maryland Promise Scholarship in August 2022 under the auspices of the Clark Challenge for the Maryland Promise Program. This fund, established in memory of John N. Lauer ’63 and in tribute to his generosity and legacy of service to the University of Maryland, provides need-based scholarships for undergraduate students who are residents of Maryland or the District of Columbia, with preference for students in the C.D. Mote, Jr. Incentive Awards Program.
