The M Club Foundation established the Coach Jerry Claiborne Endowed Scholarship for Football in August 2024 with donations from several Maryland Football alumni in memory of their former head coach. Jerry Claiborne was the head football coach at the University of Maryland from 1972-1981. He achieved a 77-37-3 record during his decade in College Park and is undoubtedly one of the greatest coaches in Maryland football history. This fund provides scholarships for students involved in the football program in the Division of Intercollegiate Athletics, with preference to student-athletes who have used up their eligibility but have yet to finish their degree, walk-ons and football managers.
