Dr. Albert Klavon (1935-2023), ‘68, M.S. ‘73, Ph.D. ‘75, agricultural and extension education, was a long-time staff member who worked in student advising and college administration at the University of Maryland. He served as Assistant Dean in the former College of Agriculture and Life Sciences and later in the former College of Life Sciences (now the College of Computer, Mathematical, and Natural Sciences). Upon his June 1999 retirement, friends and colleagues of Dr. Klavon in the College of Life Sciences established the Albert Klavon Scholarship Fund to honor his commitment to student success. Gifts to the scholarship help provide support for undergraduate students majoring in chemistry or biochemistry, based on financial need and academic merit.
