The rising cost of college tuition is making it very difficult for families to afford sending multiple children to college. Growing up in a large family, my mom and dad could only contribute to a portion of me and my siblings’ college tuition. In addition to money that I have earned through my job, internship, and co-op positions throughout my years, scholarships have been an important contributor to financing my college expenses. I greatly appreciate the generosity of the donors to UMD’s scholarship funds as it provides a way for students to receive assistance in pursuing their education.
