What leadership roles or volunteer experiences have been important to you during your time at Maryland?
Photo editor for The Mitzpeh and The PublicAsian. Staff writer for The Diamondback and The Black Explosion.
What has your scholarship meant to you and how has it enabled you to pursue new and exciting opportunities?
It has helped to give me the motivation to strive to do my best, both in music and in academics. Receiving an endowed scholarship is a great honor to me and I hope to live up to the expectations that this honor brings.
Why did you choose to attend the University of Maryland, what makes this place special to you and what is your favorite part of being a Terp?
Both the journalism and the music schools are top-notch at Maryland. The university gives me the option of majoring in both. I am also here because I love the diversity, as well as the proximity to DC. On top of that, when I was offered the scholarship, I knew I could not pass up the opportunity.
How will you make a positive difference in the world?
I want to inform and to communicate to people. I will do this through the media of reporting, photojournalism, and most importantly, music. I also hope to work for the Peace Corps after graduation.
