What leadership roles or volunteer experiences have been important to you during your time at Maryland?
Have been a volunteer for Hope Worldwide I'm a disciple of Christ, active member of the DC United Campus Ministry on campus, which entails attending and arranging meetings, organizing community services, among other things.
What has your scholarship meant to you and how has it enabled you to pursue new and exciting opportunities?
This scholarship has made me a part of this college's legacy: that of being one of its best students who will go on to greatness. It has enabled me to do many things including buy books, get interviews. It may have influenced my getting offers.
Why did you choose to attend the University of Maryland, what makes this place special to you and what is your favorite part of being a Terp?
Honestly, UM was my back-up choice of school. It so happened that I ended up at UM. I also was able to attend it through the Macklin Business Institute program at Montgomery College.
How will you make a positive difference in the world?
I will make a positive difference in the world one individual at a time. I want to make a difference in the way kids today view themselves for it affects their ability to perform in any area of their lives. I have a passion to see them succeed but that has to start at a young age, by instilling in them the courage to be what they want to be. Have the confidence, self-esteem, and belief that they deserve the best and that success is not predestined for some people while others are left to suffer no matter what they do.
