What leadership roles or volunteer experiences have been important to you during your time at Maryland?
Throughout my experience at the University of Maryland, I have had the privilege of participating in several activities, including serving as the Community Service Chair of the Filipino Cultural Association, acting as the Professional Development Co-Chair of the Peer Career Educators at the University Career Center & The President's Promise, and participating in volunteer services and an Alternative Break.
What has your scholarship meant to you and how has it enabled you to pursue new and exciting opportunities?
My scholarships have empowered me to devote the best of myself to improving the situation of those around me through becoming involved in community work and allowing myself to recognize what I can do to build the next generation of leaders who can usher in positive social change for all involved. This has not only allowed me to become more responsible for my education but also hold me accountable in regards to how I can further benefit others with the privileges that I have been afforded.
How will you make a positive difference in the world?
I will make a positive difference in the world by uniting others to see a common, unique vision and then follow through on creating that change.
What is your major, minor, class and graduation year?
I am currently a Senior double major in Government & Politics and American Studies and a double minor in Spanish Languages & Cultures and Public Leadership. I plan to graduate in May 2016.
