What leadership roles or volunteer experiences have been important to you during your time at Maryland?
Starting from fourth grade up to eleventh grade, I had helped out at the church by volunteering as an altar server. As an altar server I assisted the priest in whatever he needed, rang the bell during communion, and cleaned up the altar after mass was over. In my sophomore and junior year at high school, I helped to make ham and cheese sandwiches for the homeless. However, during the second half of my junior year I volunteered to work at St. Agnes Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. At this center, I worked with the activities workers; transporting the residents from place to place, passing out snacks, delivering mail, and helping out with the activities planned for the day (exercising, board games, drawing, and playing ball).
During the fall semester I have joined the University of Maryland's Circle K organization, a community service organization and helped out at the Silver Springs 2010 Thanksgiving Parade. Also, during the fall semester, I helped in making peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, along side of many other students, for the homeless.
