What leadership roles or volunteer experiences have been important to you during your time at Maryland?
For the past two years I have been the co- President elect for Smith Ambassadors, a student organization that serves as the direct liaison between current and future students of the Robert H. Smith School of Business. Each semester I organize and moderate interactive presentations given to hundreds of prospective students and their families. I absolutely love recruiting for the Robert H. Smith School of Business by sharing my experience and passion with parents and students.
I have also held leadership positions within my sorority, Delta Delta Delta. Currently, I am the Vice President of Membership for my chapter. I also actively participate in our extensive fundraising efforts for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. For example, I was a Committee Head for our silent auction this past fall which raised over $20,000 in one night! Previously, as the Treasurer of my chapter, I ensured the proper management of an $800,000 annual budget.
In addition, I am a Teaching Assistant for the Introduction to Business course (BMGT100). I have held this position for the past two years. In my role, I support the retired Dean of the Robert H. Smith School of Business in his class of 250 students each semester.
My leadership roles also include being the Alumni Chair for the Business Honors Council and serving as a Mentor for incoming Freshman students during their orientation. I enjoy all of my involvements because they provide me with opportunities to grow personally as well as support my peers.
