What leadership roles or volunteer experiences have been important to you during your time at Maryland?
US Department of Agriculture - Volunteer/Researcher, Biodiesel University - Grant researcher and laborer, Engineers without Borders - Previous Fundraising Chair
What has your scholarship meant to you and how has it enabled you to pursue new and exciting opportunities?
This scholarship means the world to me. Without it, I would be at a disadvantage coming out of school. This scholarship allows me to work as a volunteer at the USDA s.t. I can study and research on my own rather than having to work for a paid position.
Why did you choose to attend the University of Maryland, what makes this place special to you and what is your favorite part of being a Terp?
I chose it because of the great location, great program, and great people.
How will you make a positive difference in the world?
I plan on helping people as my career. As a civil engineer, I will be designing systems that will enable people to get clean water. My research has this emphasis and I would like to continue this as a career. Additionaly, I will be helping the environment with storm and waste water design, renewable energy work and various forms of environmental design that will add to my portfolio.
