What leadership roles or volunteer experiences have been important to you during your time at Maryland?
I currently coach gymnastics at a gym that I used to train in, and I also am certified to judge now. I recently gained a volunteer spot a veterinarian's office close to my home in Rockville, MD.
What has your scholarship meant to you and how has it enabled you to pursue new and exciting opportunities?
My scholarship makes me feel as though my academic career is important, and that what I am doing and learning at the university really matters. It also helps take some of the weight off my parents financially, as they are paying for both of their children to attend universities simultaneously.
Why did you choose to attend the University of Maryland, what makes this place special to you and what is your favorite part of being a Terp?
I chose to attend UM because I think the school is very diverse and offers everything I could dream a university would. It also has a beautiful campus and many activities outside of my classes. Lastly, it is not too far from my family, so I can visit them often.
How will you make a positive difference in the world?
I want to be the best at what I do. I hope to put my all into my school work, and my college experience as a whole. I think being a veterinarian will be giving back to the community, and allow better and more affordable treatment to families who love their animals.
