What leadership roles or volunteer experiences have been important to you during your time at Maryland?
I volunteer with my daughter's Girl Scout Service Unit and with the Society for Creative Anachronism as a Youth Officer.
What has your scholarship meant to you and how has it enabled you to pursue new and exciting opportunities?
My scholarship enabled me to make it through graduate school without incurring additional debt. This was important as I am a single mom and I have two children in college!
Why did you choose to attend the University of Maryland, what makes this place special to you and what is your favorite part of being a Terp?
I chose to attend University of Maryland as it's the closest ALA accredited school and in state tuition!
What is your major, minor, class and graduation year?
I was attending graduate school for my Masters of Library and Information Science. I graduated in December 2016.
What is your Hometown?
I live in Frederick County and work in Montgomery county, so I took advantage of online classes as well as classes at the Universities at Shady Grove. I also attend classes on the College Park campus in the evenings.
