Why did you choose to attend the University of Maryland, what makes this place special to you and what is your favorite part of being a Terp?
I originally picked UMD because of the incredible opportunities it offered as a large school in the D.C. area. It has a stellar computer science department, and it provides students with copious research and internship opportunities.
Now that I'm at Maryland, I see that it is the perfect fit for me. I have made lifelong friends here and formed meaningful connections with many of my professors.
My favorite part of being a Terp is the community it provides. I find that I'm constantly meeting new Maryland alumni from vastly different backgrounds and love hearing stories from when they were at UMD.
What is your major, minor, class and graduation year?
I am currently a sophomore at UMD and am pursuing a dual degree in computer science and mathematics. I intend to graduate in the spring of 2019.
What is your Hometown?
I am originally from Fredericksburg, Virginia, but I have come to love the College Park area!

This year I started working as an Outreach Ambassador with the Maryland Center for Women in Computing. In this role, I have gotten to mentor elementary, middle, and high school students who have an interest in STEM. I enjoy being able to share my love of computer science and math with other students in the community.
