Cheryl Grabenstein and friends and family of the late Lawrence Grabenstein established the Lawrence Grabenstein Endowed Scholarship. The fund will support scholarships for student-athletes on the Maryland Football team, with preference going toward those in majoring in business.
Lawrence "Larry" Grabenstein, a 1972 M.A. graduate in Government and Politics, passed away in June 2017. Larry taught science at Good Counsel High School in Wheaton, MD. before beginning his career in the investment field with Potomac Financial Group. In 1983, he joined Raymond James and became the first adviser to receive top honors for 25 consecutive years. A 37 year member and president of the University of Maryland Terrapin Club, Larry provided many years of invaluable service to the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics and was integral in the growth and development of the Maryland Gridiron Network. He was also a member of the M Club and recognized for his outstanding volunteer service with the 2017 Jack Heise Lifetime Achievement.
