Patricia Davison Mail Ph.D. '96 Endowed Dissertation Fellowship

Scholarship History

Patricia Davison Mail established the Patricia Davison Mail Ph.D. '96 Endowed Dissertation Fellowship in May 2017 to support a dissertation fellowship for a Ph.D. student in the School of Public Health who has achieved candidacy, with preference given to a student pursuing a career in public health education. This fellowship is awarded on the basis of merit and is intended to provide a stipend so the student recipient may focus on their dissertation and completion of the program. Dr. Mail was a commissioned officer for the United States Public Health Service and spent her career dedicated to public health education. She learned as much from her fellow classmates (many of whom were also working full-time) as her professors. She established this fund to give back and provide for the success of future public health professionals.
