Celebration of Scholarships
B. Udelle Friedland Memorial Endowed Scholarship

Scholarship History

David M. Friedland '85 established the B. Udelle Friedland Memorial Endowed Scholarship in August 2015 to provide need-based scholarships for returning students -- defined as students who are at least 25 years of age and have earned at least 60 credits toward a bachelor's degree. Preference will be given to students from the College of Education and the College of Behavioral and Social Sciences. Bernice Udelle Friedland worked as a social worker, teacher, guidance counselor and psychologist -- often carrying two or three jobs at once. She was the backbone of the family, a protector and hero. She lost a brave battle to cancer in 1988, maintaining her dignity and fighting to the end.
