Dana Rotman got her doctorate in 2013 from the University of Marylandís College of Information Studies. During her time as a doctoral student Dana was a frequent participant at academic and professional conferences, excited to present her work, eager to learn from fellow academics and researchers and to network with professionals in the field.
In September 2013, to honor the memory of Dana, who passed away shortly after earning her Ph.D. in Information Studies in May 2013, her husband, Dr. Yaron Rotman established an endowed fund to support travel and provide doctoral students enrolled in the College of Information Studies at the University of Maryland, College Park, the opportunity to attend and participate in these special events. Danaís passion for Tikun Olum, healing the world, was evident in her work, her studies and the way she lived her life. She saw the profound possibilities for emerging technology to improve the lives of people and focused her studies on using information technology to impact social change.
