Stanly Black & Decker, Inc. established the Nolan D. Archibald Endowed Scholarship in March 2013 to support students in the Quality Enhancement Systems and Teams program in the Robert H. Smith School of Business.
Nolan Don Archibald, born 1942, is Executive Chairman of The Stanley Black & Decker Corporation, a $9 billion global corporation. Mr. Archibald joined Black & Decker as President and Chief Operating Officer in September 1985. When appointed President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) in March 1986 at the age of 42, Archibald was the youngest CEO of a Fortune 500 Company. He served as CEO for Black & Decker for 24 years before orchestrating the sale of the company to The Stanley Works Corporation in 2009.
In honor of Mr. Archibald, Stanley Black & Decker, Inc. established an endowed fund to support undergraduate scholarships.
