The Campus Club of the University of Maryland College Park established the Campus Club Endowed Scholarship in August 2011 to support an undergraduate student in good academic standing who is focused on women's issues and has demonstrated financial need.
The Campus Club has been an active University of Maryland organization since 1938. The club’s purpose is to unite women of the university community for the promotion of their common interests in intellectual, social and civic affairs. With strong interest in supporting students, Campus Club members have participated for many years in giving to the Chancellor's Fund, the President's Fund or the Francis Scott Key Fund. In the late 1990's, the Campus Club’s giving priorities shifted and they began to fund a need-based award of $1,000 per year to an undergraduate student interested in women's affairs. The board and membership of the Campus Club have established this endowed fund in order to carry the Campus Club scholarship into perpetuity and honor the generations of Campus Club members who have faithfully supported student scholarships over the years.
