Maryland Society
Recognition Levels
The Maryland Society is exclusive to donors who have made cumulative lifetime gifts or pledges of $100,000. Additional recognition is accorded to donors whose lifetime gifts fall in these categories.

Barry and Mary Gossett, passionate supporters of Maryland Athletics, have given generously to create opportunities and better facilities for university athletes.
Williams Mayer
Bill Mayer, chair of the University of Maryland College Park Foundation Board of Directors, knows the university campus well, having spent several years here earning his undergraduate degree and a master's of business administration, and later serving as dean of the business school for five years.
Alice Horowitz
The most recent national survey data indicate that the majority of American adults have difficulty applying health information with accuracy and consistency. Health literacy is a shared function of patient skills, effective provider communication and the demand placed on patents by health care systems.

The Maryland Society recognizes individuals and families who have made extraordinary contributions of private support to the University of Maryland. Among its members are men and women whose vision, encouragement and beneficence have helped the university ascend its path to excellence. The Maryland Society acknowledges donors who have made lifetime contributions of $100,000 or more as of June 30, 2009.
