The School of Architecture, Planning, and Preservation is the home of the National Center for Smart Growth Research and Education and offers professional degree programs in architecture, planning, preservation, and real estate development and a Ph.D. program in urban and regional planning and design. The School’s mission is to educate architects, planners, preservationists, developers and the many allied stakeholders whose work and scholarship focuses on the quality of the built environment and promotes social justice, cultural value, resource conservation, and economic opportunity.
The School’s “Great Expectations” campaign goals are to create distinguished professorships and endowed chairs, a Dean’s Fund to support interdisciplinary scholarship and research, support international research and collaboration, develop a Practice Leadership Initiative and the faculty and staff legacy project.

Architecture Lecture Series Fund The lecture series fund seeks donations to bring nationally and internationally acclaimed architects, designers, urban planners, historic preservationists, real estate development professionals and other experts to the campus for the benefit of students and the public. The lecture series expands a student’s learning environment by encouraging a spirit of risk taking through the example of others. The lecture series reaffirms the University's land-grant mission and provides a distinctive public education program. Lecture Series funds have been established to support the School’s programs.

Architecture Undergraduate Scholarship The School currently has limited scholarships that it can award to students. If we are to aggressively recruit the best, we will need scholarship money to entice them to attend the University of Maryland and the School. Supporting this fund could mean the difference in a student’s ability to attend the School of Architecture, Planning, and Preservation.
Additional scholarship funds have been established to support graduate programs in Architecture, Historic Preservation, Real Estate Development, and Urban Studies and Planning. To donate to one of these funds, please search by name below.

Dean's Leadership Fund Donations to support this fund will make our graduates more valuable to their particular professions and advance the School of Architecture's reputation in leadership training. For students, leadership training involves opportunities to interact with national leaders, develop workshops and symposia on leadership, and participate in leadership events and training opportunities. For faculty, leadership funds will provide support that will allow faculty to enhance their leadership role in the professions they serve. Support of this fund will allow the School of Architecture and its programs to enhance our tradition. |
