During Dr. Mitchell A. Essey’s long and distinguished career at the USDA, he taught and mentored federal and state veterinarians and veterinary tuberculosis epidemiologists throughout the United States as well as internationally. This scholarship was established in his memory to provide financial assistance for veterinary students studying within the Center for Public and Corporate Veterinary Medicine at the Virginia Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine.
