Nice, France at La Bataille de Fleurs
2 SCHOLARSHIPs AWARDED:
What leadership roles or volunteer experiences have been important to you during your time at Maryland?
I was the International Studies representative for the Student Advisory Board within College Park Scholars. I also served on the activities committee. This was a great experience to communicate with professors, scholars, and central staff to solve problems and plan events for students.
What has your scholarship meant to you and how has it enabled you to pursue new and exciting opportunities?
This scholarship has allowed me to study abroad in Nice, France for the semester. My French language ability has improved immensely during the two months I have been here and I would not have had this same learning environment in the United States. This scholarship has also allowed me to meet countless people from around the world and share my experiences with them.
What is your major, minor, class and graduation year?
I am pursuing a double degree in Criminology & Criminal Justice and French Language & Literature. I am a junior and I will be graduating in 2017.
What is your Hometown?

My favorite class at UMD has been MUSC205: History of Pop Music. We learned about music starting with rhythm & blues and ending with punk rock in the 1990's. I was excited to go to class every day and listen to good music.
