Why did you choose to attend the University of Maryland, what makes this place special to you and what is your favorite part of being a Terp?
The reason I chose to attend the University of Maryland was because of the diversity. Here there is a wealth of diversity in the student body make up, but more importantly in the diversity of ideas. At Maryland there is not one singular way to learn something. As a terp, my experience in the Theatre program has been an immersive one. There is a heavy insistence on interdisciplinary studies, learning, and first hand exposure to the things that you are interested in pursuing. On the campus as a whole, the focus is multi-faceted and there are ideas about climate change, sustainability, social justice, equality, ending discrimination, and community outreach. I believe that as a Terp, there is nothing that I should be afraid to pursue because at Maryland I have had the opportunity to get my feet wet, refine my skills, and use my communication skills to express my ideas to people of any background.
What is your major, minor, class and graduation year?

One of my favorite classes has been my Advanced Topics in Performance: Puppetry class. This class was completed for me in the Fall of 2015 with professional puppet artist Robin Frohardt. This class was sponsored through the generous support of Heather Henson, the daughter of famed Muppets creator and UMD alumni Jim Henson, as well as the Jim Henson Artist in Residence Fund. This class has given me the opportunity to explore many different avenues of performance within the medium of puppetry. I have learned to incorporate the storytelling aspect of dramatic performance into the lively and often times comedic energy needed to bring a puppet to life. It has been a unique experience to use my voice, limbs, and creativity to create an original puppet show, and to express personality, character, and various emotions through inanimate objects, which once animated- are limitless.
