What leadership roles or volunteer experiences have been important to you during your time at Maryland?
I currently serve as co-president of the Latina/o Graduate Student Association and have been working with a group of Latina/o graduate students to bring this group back.
What has your scholarship meant to you and how has it enabled you to pursue new and exciting opportunities?
It has meant opportunity. I feel very honored to be a recipient of this scholarship. This scholarship support helps to alleviate my financial concerns in funding my graduate education and allows me to focus on my academics and research opportunities. I cannot be thankful enough for the support and know that I will represent the Naomi Hentz Memorial Fund proudly.
Why did you choose to attend the University of Maryland, what makes this place special to you and what is your favorite part of being a Terp?
The wonderful faculty in my program area who are committed to my success
How will you make a positive difference in the world?
By continuing my equity to educational access and success for underrepresented and first-generation college students in higher education
What is your major, minor, class and graduation year?
I am a 2nd year Ph.D. student in the Higher Education, Student Affairs, International Education Policy program
