1 SCHOLARSHIP AWARDED:
What leadership roles or volunteer experiences have been important to you during your time at Maryland?
My roles as competitor and (this year) assistant coach of the UMD Ethics Bowl team were very important to me during my time at Maryland. I was able to work with a group of fun, smart people and represent UMD in our travel competitions.
What has your scholarship meant to you and how has it enabled you to pursue new and exciting opportunities?
My scholarship has given me the financial flexibility to pursue unpaid internships in areas that I am passionate about. While at UMD, I interned with the Office of the Attorney General and at the State's Attorney's Office for Montgomery County. These opportunities were indespensable in my journey to law school.
Why did you choose to attend the University of Maryland, what makes this place special to you and what is your favorite part of being a Terp?
University of Maryland is a fantastic school because it gives students (1) the opportunities to succeed, and (2) the freedom to take advantage of these opportunities as they like. I entered the school as a bioengineering student and ended up following a pre-law path that has led me through a Master's degree and to law school next year. UMD allowed me to make the most of my talents without holding my hand the whole way.
What is your major, minor, class and graduation year?
I majored in Government and Politics from UMD and graduated in 2015.
What is your Hometown?
I am from Bethesda, in Montgomery County, MD.
