1 SCHOLARSHIP AWARDED:
What has your scholarship meant to you and how has it enabled you to pursue new and exciting opportunities?
I am truly grateful for this scholarship. Receiving this scholarship really solidifies the idea that going that extra mile and putting in that extra effort really pays off. Not only is it recognized, but it is praised, which I am thankful for. It's good to know that someone believes enough in me to invest into my education, and I'll make sure to make such investments as positively impactful as I can.
Why did you choose to attend the University of Maryland, what makes this place special to you and what is your favorite part of being a Terp?
I chose the University of Maryland for the close proximity to my home (a mere 45 minute commute), as well as the high academic ranking for Aerospace Engineering, combined with a substantial scholarship to attend. The University of Maryland is a special place for me because I've really been able to benefit from the connections and resources which the University has to offer. For example, as a freshman I've already landed a great internship at General Electric Aviation, and have already won the Deloitte Case Competition for the University of Maryland, both fantastic career building experiences which I wouldn't have been exposed to at other universities.
How will you make a positive difference in the world?
I seek to change the lives of those around me, as well as society as a whole. I hope that my contributions to the world of engineering and technology will help to better enable humans to complete goals which they otherwise wouldn't have thought possible. I believe that being passionate and outgoing to those around you is a really simple yet effective way to make a positive difference, because positivity and willingness to help is contagious, meaning that it will inherently cause others to start spreading their own positivity and ability to help others, ultimately improving the world as a whole.
What is your major, minor, class and graduation year?
I'm an Aerospace Engineering major, and a Freshman planning on graduating in 2019.
What is your Hometown?
