1 SCHOLARSHIP AWARDED:
What leadership roles or volunteer experiences have been important to you during your time at Maryland?
Due to my heavy work and school schedule, I havent had a chance to pariticpate in a lot of extra-curricular activites at UMCP, but have held multiple leadership roles in my work life including manager, assistant manager and mentor to my fellow employees. I have applied this same motivation and leadership to my courses, often taking the lead on group projects and presentations!
What has your scholarship meant to you and how has it enabled you to pursue new and exciting opportunities?
Receiving the schloarship has helped me so much. I have to work full-time just to pay for school, and the extra funds have allowed me to focus more on being successful in my courses! I have been able to add the double major & minor (extending my time as a student), which I love because I really enjoy learning. It has also made me more more marketable to future companies, and provided me with greater opportunities in the career world!
Why did you choose to attend the University of Maryland, what makes this place special to you and what is your favorite part of being a Terp?
I am so proud to be a terp! I choose UMCP because of the amazing business program it offers, as well as the opportunities and connections to hiring firms that it provides. Graduating with degrees from Maryland I feel makes me valuable to companies, as it has a very good reputation.
How will you make a positive difference in the world?
It has always been my career goal to work for the government/CIA because I feel I could really make a difference in the world by ensuring security and protection.
What is your major, minor, class and graduation year?
I am majoring in IS & Supply Chain, and minoring in Business Analytics. I plan on graduating in the winter of this year (2016).
