What leadership roles or volunteer experiences have been important to you during your time at Maryland?
I have volunteered with AAHC (Asian American Health Care) and Four Friends (service assistance for kids with disabilites) at the BPKC.
What has your scholarship meant to you and how has it enabled you to pursue new and exciting opportunities?
To pursue my personal goal, being a dentist with the circumstances that I am in seemed somewhat challenging. However, grateful help from donors, Mr. and Mrs. Kendall definitely made my course easier. I am currently applying to dental schools to be admitted this fall and waiting for their decisions now.
Why did you choose to attend the University of Maryland, what makes this place special to you and what is your favorite part of being a Terp?
I am a transfer student from comunity college. While community college offers friendly and professor-student interaction based learning environment, UMD provided quality education in depth that I need to prepare myslef to become a dentist.
How will you make a positive difference in the world?
I will be working as a dentist to serve under served people around the world. This is exactly what I am doing right now as a dental assistant in a medical missions team at my church.

Major: PHNB (Physiology and Neurobiology)

Tell us about your favorite class, extracurricular activity, academic opportunity, community involvement or another unique experience.
Favorite classes are chemistry courses and being a member of medical missions team at my church is the activity that excites me most.
