What leadership roles or volunteer experiences have been important to you during your time at Maryland?
I have enjoyed being a part of College Park Scholars and more specifically, the Science, Technology, and Society Scholars program. It has allowed me to share my love of STEM with others and also participate in many community service experiences, such as volunteering at Community Forklift, a local hub for recycled building materials.
Why did you choose to attend the University of Maryland, what makes this place special to you and what is your favorite part of being a Terp?
I chose to attend the University of Maryland because it is one of the top Computer Science schools in the nation, and because of its unique campus feel while still being in close proximity to to a city.
What is your major, minor, class and graduation year?
I am a Computer Science major in the College of Computer, Mathematical, and Natural Sciences graduating in May 2016.

I am from Dallas, TX
Tell us about your favorite class, extracurricular activity, academic opportunity, community involvement or another unique experience.
My favorite academic opportunity I've been given was being a Teaching Assistant for CMSC216 (C and Computer Systems). Helping to teach the class not only helped me to understand the material more thoroughly but also helped me to better learn how to communicate the information to others.
