3 SCHOLARSHIPs AWARDED:
What has your scholarship meant to you and how has it enabled you to pursue new and exciting opportunities?
While enjoying all of these great experiences in college, I am truly thankful for everything the scholarship brings to me. First of all, I would have to spend more time worrying about tuition if I did not get the financial support; especially because the scholarship came to my account when I had to deal with a fire at my home. More importantly, beyond the financial support, I greatly appreciate all of the emotional moments the scholarship has given to me. There is always scholars' gatherings and other events.
Why did you choose to attend the University of Maryland, what makes this place special to you and what is your favorite part of being a Terp?
The friendly people here and the environment of living and learning helped me to make my decision.
How will you make a positive difference in the world?
In the future, I would like to make difference by giving back to the educators who have helped me along the way. I want to take my prime idea of family and community to create the perfect, professional engineering team. I hope to give back to several communities by using this engineering team to create a web of great engineers throughout the world. I hope to make all these engineers give back to their communities as well. As a team, we can go around the country, even around the world to spread our ideas about engineering and provide resources for the bridges and instructors to aid the students.

English is my second language which sets many barriers in front of me. However, by tutoring in Chinese language and culture, I have been able to build up my English language skills, leadership skills and management skill. “Life gives to the giver, and takes from the taker.”
