3 SCHOLARSHIPs AWARDED:
What has your scholarship meant to you and how has it enabled you to pursue new and exciting opportunities?
My scholarship has enabled me to focus on school rather than working part-time while studying. Students that have left a career to go back to school, especially veterans, often have many more financial responsibilities than the traditional student.
Why did you choose to attend the University of Maryland, what makes this place special to you and what is your favorite part of being a Terp?
I chose Maryland because of the caliber and respect held for the Computer Science department across the nation.
How will you make a positive difference in the world?
I plan to use the skills I learn at Maryland to continue to provide National Defense and Security through many forms of service: civil and military.
What is your major, minor, class and graduation year?
Junior, Class of 2017
What is your Hometown?
Tell us about your favorite class, extracurricular activity, academic opportunity, community involvement or another unique experience.
I have lived overseas for six years: three years in Germany and three years in South Korea. I have also been deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom. I played many years of rugby and continue to enjoy being a fan of the sport.
