What leadership roles or volunteer experiences have been important to you during your time at Maryland?
I joined the honor's program Digital Cultures and Creativity program. I have now become one of the student council members and have enjoyed organizing different activities for our program. We have had fundraisers where we donate to charities and dances to lighten up the mood within students.
What has your scholarship meant to you and how has it enabled you to pursue new and exciting opportunities?
This scholarship means a lot to me because it has allowed me to focus on my studies without worrying about how I am going to pay for my education. I now have great opportunities in my life that I may have not gotten without my scholarships and the suport of donors.
Why did you choose to attend the University of Maryland, what makes this place special to you and what is your favorite part of being a Terp?
I live very close to campus so I have been exposed to this university since I was young. Upon hearing how great the School of Engineering is compared to other top schools, I decided that UMD was the school for me.
How will you make a positive difference in the world?
I will become a computer engineer, and my goal is to continue to innovate both hardware and software, as well as how they interact with each other. The tech industry is a very innovate and competitive field, and by being a part of it, I know I can make a difference. Whethere it will be enhancing computer hardware, writing software, or making the tools other professionals will use, I know I will make an impact in this industry.

I am part of the Class of 2016, meaning I will graduate on May 2016
