What leadership roles and/or volunteer experiences have you had?

I have had an opportunity to work with many organizations including: the Asian American Studies Program at the University of Maryland, Smithsonian Institution, OCA, Special Olympics, JICA, and the Center for the Study of International Cooperation in Education (CICE) at Hiroshima University.

What has your scholarship meant to you or enabled you to do?

This scholarship has supported my dissertation research.  In the summer of 2010, I visited four major cities in the U.S. to conduct interviews with approximately 15 Chinese American donors and development officers.

What are your career plans/aspirations?

Immediately after completing my research and dissertation, I would like to procure an appointment at an American higher education institution as a faculty member. I would like to continue my teaching responsibilities as well as expand my research agenda to include studies of other subsets of Asian American donor populations. Additionally, I would like to utilize my position at a university to further inter-institutional exchanges between American universities and universities in Asia.
