What has your scholarship meant to you or enabled you to do?
Dear Donors of the Education Need Based Scholarship,
My name is Xiao Liu, a second - year doctoral student at the department of Curriculum and Instruction. I am honored and grateful to receive the Education Need Based Scholarship this year. I would like to thank you for your generosity and thoughtfulness in regards to this award!
As an international student in this country, I have gone through many difficulties in my personal and academic life. This year, life is even more challenging and busier with the birth of our first baby. But with the generous and kind help from classmates, friends, and colleagues, my husband and I are confident to finish our doctoral study and raise a family at the same time.
Currently, I also work as a graduate assistant at the center for Chinese language teacher certification and development in the College of Education. My job duty is to plan and implement strategies to recruit Chinese language teachers and provide professional development to them. In this semester, I also teach a graduate-level course to preservice Chinese language teachers. Your scholarship serves as a strong encouragement for me to maintain and improve my level of achievement before graduation.
I am extremely thankful for your financial assistance!
Sincerely,
Xiao
