What has your scholarship meant to you and how has it enabled you to pursue new and exciting opportunities?
The Gary Williams Leadership Scholarship means a lot to me because of many reasons. Among the most important, however, is the alleviation of financial stress for me as an out-of-state student, and also, a little bit of recognition for my activities on campus. College is such a huge part of my life right now that I could not imagine life without it. The scholarship helps ensure that I can continue coming to UMD.
Why did you choose to attend the University of Maryland, what makes this place special to you and what is your favorite part of being a Terp?
For the same reasons why its so special to me! Not only is UM awesome in academics, it's got a great athletics program, a diverse offering of student activities, and a really fun student body with priorities to lead successful lives.
How will you make a positive difference in the world?
I hope to make a positive difference in the world by helping to reverse the trend of apathy with motivation for others to get involved in their communities. I'm not quite sure how this is going to happen, but I'm confident I'll figure out a way.
