Why is the University of Maryland special to you?

 The University of Maryland is special to me because it has allowed me to express myself both academically and artistically. I have the encouragement and resources to grow as an artist and as a student. I have been able to explore both my academic interests and artistic passions in a way that has given me a family in both arenas. I have been nurtured and challenged in my experience at the University of Maryland.

What has your scholarship meant to you or enabled you to do?

 My scholarships have given me the financial freedom to study abroad. If it were not for my scholarship I would not have had this unique educational experience.

Who do you admire and find is a source of inspiration to you?

 I greatly admire that faculty and students as a source of inspiration. There is such a constant thirst to learn and create in a way that makes me want to be a part of so many more projects. Often times this means being involved in more than I thought that I was capable of, but because of their inspiration I have realized that I am capable of it all!
