- Volunteer tutor for ages 5-13 in math and reading in Washington, D.C. - Volunteer proctor/student panelist for various competitions and recruiting events - Grader for the Mathematics Department - Teaching Assistant for the Computer Science Department
What has your scholarship meant to you and how has it enabled you to pursue new and exciting opportunities?
My scholarship has allowed me the time and energy to focus my efforts toward my studies and invest more in my community.
Why did you choose to attend the University of Maryland, what makes this place special to you and what is your favorite part of being a Terp?
A strong computer science department, plus in-state tuition.
How will you make a positive difference in the world?
Wherever I am, I expect myself to bring an unwavering work ethic and positive attitude to my community -- this may not be quantifiable, but then again, things that have the deepest impact usually are not.
