3. math tutor
4. student teacher
What has your scholarship meant to you and how has it enabled you to pursue new and exciting opportunities?
I am grateful for receiving this scholarship because it reduced my financial burden paying off some of my student loans. I really appreciate your help! Having this scholarship helped me to focus on the most important part of my life right now - finishing my Master's Degree in Special Education. In order to become an effective teacher, I feel I need to spend some of my free time in different classrooms and different settings to better understand the different aspects of teaching such as students/family needs, instructional strategies, and different programs available for children with disabilities. I feel having this scholarship allowed me to do just that. So, thank you very much one more time!
Why did you choose to attend the University of Maryland, what makes this place special to you and what is your favorite part of being a Terp?
Because they had a very good Special Education program which would best prepare me for my carrer as a special education teacher and an advocate for children with disabilities and their families.
How will you make a positive difference in the world?
I'm going to help children with pervasive disabilities reach their potential by teaching them academic and functional living skills.
