What leadership roles or volunteer experiences have been important to you during your time at Maryland?
Serving as an Ag Ambassador for the College of Agriculture and Natural Resource Sciences has enabled me to interact with students who share my interests and share with prospective students why we think UM is such a great place to be.
What has your scholarship meant to you and how has it enabled you to pursue new and exciting opportunities?
My scholarship has done nothing less than allow me to attend UM. Without it, I would not be here. I can't imagine how my life would be different at another university.
Why did you choose to attend the University of Maryland, what makes this place special to you and what is your favorite part of being a Terp?
For me, the atmosphere and quality of the landscape architecture program was of great importance. I knew I wanted to study Landscape Architecture and, being in the DC area, UM has some fantastic opprotunities for me. Also, the energy and rising status of UM made it an exciting place to be.
How will you make a positive difference in the world?
I want to design places the sustain and improve our fragile environment while also being great places for people to live, work, and play. I believe that social and environmental justice are inseperable and that intelligent design can do much to improve the lives of others.
