What leadership roles or volunteer experiences have been important to you during your time at Maryland?
I am working at a local soup kitchen as much as possible this semester.
What has your scholarship meant to you and how has it enabled you to pursue new and exciting opportunities?
I view my scholarship as a strong vote of confidence. I am grateful that I received an award while among so many students who are more intelligent and harder-working than I am. More importantly, my scholarship is an enormous help to my parents, who are paying my tuition.
Why did you choose to attend the University of Maryland, what makes this place special to you and what is your favorite part of being a Terp?
I first became interested in Maryland because I visit the area frequently and I discovered they have a turf program. However, I did not make my decision until I visited College Park for an open house and saw firsthand the beautiful campus environment.
How will you make a positive difference in the world?
Directly, I will manage a small patch of living, breathing land in an era of exponential urbanization. However, I hope to make smaller, more subtle differences. I plan to raise a good family with positive ideals and help those in need in my community.
