What leadership roles or volunteer experiences have been important to you during your time at Maryland?
Leadership Retreat Committee, Smith Fellows Orientation Mentor, Dean's Advisory Council, SUSA/ Faculty Liaison for BITS, Smith Ambassador, STARS (high school outreach), Golden Key Honour Society historian.
What has your scholarship meant to you and how has it enabled you to pursue new and exciting opportunities?
I was very excited after receiving notice of my scholarship as it means a lot to me. The main reasons are because it is a very gratifying recognition and a great financial help as I personally finance my college education through scholarships and jobs. It allows me to have a break in my search for tuition funds and to concentrate a little more on my school work.
Why did you choose to attend the University of Maryland, what makes this place special to you and what is your favorite part of being a Terp?
I chose UM because it is a prestigious school with one of the best business programs and a very diverse community with pleasant people all around it.
How will you make a positive difference in the world?
I will make a difference in the world by motivating high school students to pursue a higher education and to be prepared to build a career path by sharing my personal experience. It is always great to find somebody that has gone through an experience that you are about to take on and can provide you with some advice or guidance.
