What has your scholarship meant to you and how has it enabled you to pursue new and exciting opportunities?
I never expect to receive things for my work, but I strive to do the best job I know how. However, it is a great feeling to be recognized for the accomplishments I have achieved. Additionally, I am a die hard MD Basketball fan, and it was really cool to receive the leadership scholarship from Gary Williams.
Why did you choose to attend the University of Maryland, what makes this place special to you and what is your favorite part of being a Terp?
I honestly only applied to 2 schools, here and UMBC. UMD was easily my first choice financially, academically, socially, and of course the whole sports thing :).
How will you make a positive difference in the world?
This is a hard one. I could say I'll end world hunger; however, that would be unrealistic. A more practical answer would be I will give my best in any situation. Whether it's completing a project at work or donating time at the local food kitchen, I will always give my best. I feel if someone is dedicated and always gives their best (sometimes with guidance) this individual will succeed and make a difference. If things don't work out it's important to retain your optimism and motivation to move on.
